Have you ever thought about using a doctrinal
statement as a prayer prompter.
Emmanuel Baptist Church's doctrinal statement can be
found at http://www.emmanuelbaptist.com/statementoffaith.pdf
Read through one of these statements and thank God for
WHO HE IS not only what He does.
The Scriptures
We believe in the authority and sufficiency of the Word of God,
consisting of the sixty‐six books of the Old and New Testaments, as originally written;
that it was verbally and plenary inspired and is the product of Spirit‐controlled
men, and therefore is infallible and inerrant in all matters of which it speaks. We
believe the Bible to be the true center of Christian unity and the supreme standard by which
all human conduct, creed, and opinions shall be tried (II Tim. 3:16‐17;
II Pet. 1:19‐21; Isa. 40:8; I Pet. 1:24‐25a).
Prayer:
Lord God, the AUTHOR of scripture,
Lord God, the AUTHOR of scripture,
Thank you for revealing Yourself to the humanity in scripture.
You have given us Your Word so that we would be in awe of your character.
I want to come to Your Word with this attitude.
1st Timothy 3:16‐17.
All Scripture is
breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction,
and for training in righteousness, that the man of God[b] may be
complete, equipped for every good work.
2nd Peter 1:19‐21.
And we have the prophetic word more fully confirmed, to which you
will do well to pay attention as to a lamp shining in a dark place,
until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your
hearts, knowing this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture comes
from someone's own interpretation. For no prophecy was ever produced
by the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by
the Holy Spirit.
Isaiah 40:8.
The grass withers, the flower
fades,
1st Peter 1:24‐25a.
for “All flesh is like grass and all its glory like the
flower of grass. The grass withers and the flower falls, but the word of the Lord
remains forever.” And this word is the good
news that was preached to you.
